Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior WordPress Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in testing WordPress plugins, themes, and web applications.
This role goes beyond day to day testing role. You will take ownership of product quality across our WordPress ecosystem and help define testing strategies, strengthen automation practices, establish scalable QA standards across the organization, and ensuring every release is production-ready before it reaches users.
You’ll work directly with developers, designers, and product managers to catch issues early, validate complex features, and prevent regressions. Your ability to combine deep manual testing instincts with modern automation practices will directly impact product stability and customer trust.
This is a leadership-track position. We’re building our QA function from the ground up, and the right person will grow into a QA Team Lead and eventually Head of QA as the team and product suite scale. If you think at the product level—not just feature level—this role is built for you.

- Perform edge-case, negative, exploratory, and real-user workflow testing
- Validate backward compatibility for plugin updates and major WordPress core releases.
Debugging & Technical QA
- Read and analyze PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to identify root causes of issues—not just symptoms.
- Debug using browser DevTools, WordPress debug logs, and database inspection.
- Validate API integrations, backend logic, and data integrity when required.
- Write clear, reproducible, and well-documented bug reports with annotated screenshots or video walkthroughs.
- Collaborate with developers to isolate root causes, verify fixes, and confirm no regressions are introduced.
Process Building & QA Leadership
- Build and own QA documentation, testing frameworks, and release validation processes from scratch.
- Define and enforce quality standards across all products.
- Test from a real-user perspective—advocate for clarity, usability, and smooth workflows.
- Provide structured QA reports and risk assessments before every release.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and drive continuous improvement in both manual and automated testing.
- Participate in feature planning and requirement discussions to ensure testability.
We don’t expect you to know everything; but we expect curiosity, consistency, and willingness to learn.
